Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a good driving record. All ALS units operate under progressive standing orders, which include advanced airway procedures (paralytics), liberal treatment protocols and a highly developed trauma system. 

EMT BASIC, INTERMEDIATE, OR FIRST RESPONDER

Medix Ambulance Service encourages and supports individuals who continue their education to the next level. We accommodate school schedules so that First Responders and EMTs can pursue their education while working and gain practical experience. Employees need to be both Oregon and Washington certified and company will help with reciprocity

Paramedics are assigned to ALS ambulances and provide advanced life support services.

COMMUNICATIONS

Medix Ambulance Service offers both full and part-time Communications Specialists to add to our Dispatch team. Responsibilities include: triage and dispatch of 9-1-1 emergency medical calls, dispatch of non-emergent ambulances and wheelchair vans, extensive computer use, and use of multi-line phone and radio systems. As on-the-job training encompasses necessary duties, no prior dispatch experience is necessary.

WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORTATION

Our wheelchair transportation service is staffed by employees trained to deliver the highest level of care and customer service. We employ drivers to deliver round-the-clock, door-to-door transportation services in a caring, professional manner.

WAGES, BENEFITS, and WORK SCHEDULES

Medix Ambulance Service hires career-oriented employees who match the company goal of meeting each customer's needs. Work schedules include 8, 10, 12, and 24-hour shifts.

OREGON EMT CERTIFICATION

Oregon specifies three levels of EMT certifications. Most NREMT-certified applicants are eligible to receive reciprocity with a provisional certification.
